When Work Is No Longer An Option
She approached her primary care physician for support. The doctor gave her statins, but the treatment resulted in two autoimmunity deficiencies, weakening her body.
The side effects became overwhelming. Pain was constant. Fatigue was part of everyday life. Physical struggles evolved into emotional and mental issues that made it extremely difficult to focus on her work.
It was obvious to her that she couldn’t work anymore. The physical, mental, and emotional stress was too much. She just needed someone that could help…
The Struggle to Continue Working
In 2011, Carrier’s doctor suggested applying for Social Security Disability benefits. She wanted to continue working and serving patients, so she tried to push through. Eventually, though, she had to stop because it had become too difficult.
She tried applying for part-time or lighter jobs, but she was continually rejected by prospective employers. Eventually she knew she needed help to generate income. In 2015, she applied for disability benefits. But, she was denied.
Carrie gave one last try to return to work, but it was obvious to her that she couldn’t work anymore. The physical, mental, and emotional stress was too much. She just needed someone that could help her get approved for disability benefits.
Where to Turn For Help?
A friend of Carrie’s had used Disability Apply to represent her during her own successful SSD application process.
Carrie decided to talk to our team of representatives about her situation. We helped her through the steps for re-applying for benefits, answered her questions, and updated her throughout the process.
“The whole thing took about seven months,” Carrie recalls. “I was expecting a much longer process based on everything I heard about applying for disability coverage. But, Disability Apply took the ball and ran with it much faster than I anticipated. They were always there for me, their team was very knowledgeable, and they helped me satisfy any requests from the Social Security Administration.”
A Chance for Restoration
In July 2019, Carrie was approved for benefits and started to receive payments. She received a lump sum amount for her backpay immediately after being approved. She then started to receive monthly benefits checks the following month.
Although Carrie wishes she could still work, she is relieved to have financial support while coping with her health situation.
“It’s good to have income. It’s bad enough that I can’t work, but I know that it’s a blessing to have steady income and I’m thankful for it.”
