According to the Social Security Administration (SSA), under no circumstance does Social Security issue emergency checks to beneficiaries currently receiving disability payments.
We know times can be difficult and place individuals in financial hardships, but, unfortunately, the SSA will not issue payments in advance unless you are a new applicant. However, this does not mean you are out of options.

Emergency Advance Payment Options
If you are already receiving Social Security Disability benefits, then you are not eligible to receive Emergency Advance Payments (EAP).
However, if you are already receiving disability payments, be sure to review your state and local government assistance programs for additional aid and other programs you may be eligible for.
EAP is available to new SSI applicants who face a financial emergency and are due SSI benefits that have been delayed or not yet received. The maximum emergency advance payment is the smallest amount of:
- The SSI Federal benefit rate;
- The total amount of benefits due; OR
- The amount requested for the financial emergency.
EAP is available only to those who are due SSI benefits and have not yet received them AND are facing a financial emergency, which means lack of funds threatens their health or safety.
Emergency Advance Payments are recovered by subtracting the advance payment from the payments already due to you. If you are not due any past payments, the advance amount will be subtracted from your monthly payment amount in up to six monthly installments.
